Twenty PTHS students were selected by audition on October 10th to participate Saturday, November 19th, at the Illinois Music Educators District III Festival at Centennial Chapel at Olivet Nazarene University. These students represent the top high school musicians from over 50 schools in Central Illinois.
The Senior Jazz Band concert, including Kevin Kuska and Eric Zega on Trumpet, will be under the direction of Rick Haydon on November 5th at ONU.
The Senior Band will include Patrick Bromley, Caitlyn Ricketts, Samantha Mehrkens and Danika Mayback.
The Senior Chorus under the direction of Dr. Brad Holmes, of Millikin University will include Madelyn Doran, Aubrey Gill, David Gualandi, India Guerrero, Dillon...

Congratulations to the girls golf team for advancing to IHSA Sectionals for the first time in school history! Ali Schrock advanced out of the Sectional to the IHSA State Finals on October 14th and 15th in Decatur. Good luck Ali and Coach Brunner!

PTHS is holding ours during Parent/Teacher conferences starting at 4pm on October 20, with others scheduled in the area.

This year the SAT will be given to all 11th graders on April 5, 2017 at no cost.
In preparation, students who have already registered will take the PSAT during school on October 19.
Students are encouraged to select “yes” on the PSAT and SAT answer sheet in order to access scholarships through the Student Search Service.

Come out to the annual PTHS Volley for the Cure! This year we will play U-High starting at 5pm.
We will have various Volley for the Cure tables set up at the games.
During the school day, students will have the opportunity to purchase a pink ribbon at the commons doors for $2.00 and wear a hat of their choice.
Volley for the Cure shirts may be purchased at the General Store.
The Music Department proudly presents “Trials & Triumphs” on Sunday October, 16th at 3:00pm in the Auditorium!
Enjoy selections from the Concert Choir, two women’s ensembles, Men’s Choir, and Madrigal Singers!
The choirs will present music in Latin, Hebrew, Russian, Zulu AND English! You will hear music from the Renaissance and Classical periods, Mozart and Vivaldi as well traditional Spirituals, Early American Folk Songs, English Madrigals and a few surprises along the way!
No matter your taste in music, you will enjoy these energetic selections! Tickets are $3.00 for adults and free for students and those with the Golden Age Pass.

The PTHS Special Olympics Unified Soccer team won their Regional on October 1st and continues to state on Saturday, October 15, at Uno Charter School in Chicago.
The Jostens rep will deliver your class jewelry during lunch on Monday, October 17TH.
The Balance Due must be paid in full in order to receive your ring; you may bring cash or check that day or pay online prior to delivery day.
Students on the JPAY Payment Plan in good standing will receive their ring.
Any student may place an order for a class ring that day as well, or use it as a service day if you already have your class ring. Please contact Jostens with any questions.

Portions of Friday nights pork chop house sales will be used for a memorial to Don Wayman. Don was one of the founders of what is now known as the “Chop House.” He was a very integral part of our PTHS community and will be sorely missed.
