Vision and hearing screenings are provided annually to District 90 students at the State-mandated grade levels, as designated by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The following students are screened: all students in special education programs, students transferring into the District, and students requested by the classroom teacher. For the 2016-2017 school year, the screenings will take place on Monday, October 3rd and Tuesday, October 4th. If you have any concerns or wish for your child not to be screened, please submit written documentation to PTHS, Attention: Susan Verdun.
Come out to the annual PTHS Volley for the Cure! This year we will play U-High starting at 5pm.
We will have various Volley for the Cure tables set up at the games.
During the school day, students will have the opportunity to purchase a pink ribbon at the commons doors for $2.00 and wear a hat of their choice.
Volley for the Cure shirts may be purchased at the General Store.
The PTHS Student Health Center will be offering flu shots beginning September 22. We are able to bill private insurances, as well as Medicaid. Please let us know if you are interested in having your student receive the influenza vaccine. The cost is $40 if you do not have insurance. Please call or email if you have any questions.
Congratulations to the 2016 Homecoming Court: Freshman Attendants – Ryan Weir and Cassidy Ringle, Sophomore Attendants – Ben Schuler and Josie Noonan, Junior Attendants – Andrew Lee and Kalynn Wiles, and Senior Attendants – Boston DiNardi, Jake Lanning, Krutil Patel, Levi Ransom, Eric Zega, Andrea Araujo, Aubrey Gill, Taylor Ritter, Hannah Verdun and Grace Watson.
This year the SAT will be given to all 11th graders on April 5, 2017. The SAT will replace the PARCC assessment as the required high school exam in Illinois. There will be no student costs for this SAT and scores will be able to be submitted to colleges for admission and scholarship decisions. The SAT is similar in design to the ACT, and most colleges place equal weight on the results from either test. A practice test is available, the PSAT/NMSQT, which will be given on Wednesday, October 19 during the PTHS Block Day periods 1 and 3. Our Hawaiian-themed Homecoming kicks off this year with hall decorating and our annual Powder Puff game on Sunday, September 18. The entire week contains spirit days and athletic Pack-the-Place’s, leading to our pep rally, parade, and football game on Friday, September 23. The week culminates with the “Surfs Up” Homecoming dance at 8pm on Saturday, September 24. We hope to see all students showing their school pride by participating in all of our PTHS Homecoming activities!

Join us in kicking off the 2016 home Varsity Football season at our 2nd Annual Fan Fest, to be held this Friday night, August 26, from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Just inside the Williamson Field entrance there will be music, inflatables like a bounce house and obstacle course, face-painting, sno-cones, prizes, and more! Bring the whole family for a night of fun before we cheer on our Indians!
