D90 Education Foundation

The Challenge:
Pontiac and the surrounding area are widely regarded as a desirable place to live and raise a family. Reasons cited often include the quality of the school system, the values held by the residents and the community spirit demonstrated in various ways each year.

The quality and variety of educational experiences help shape students and determine many lasting values. These experiences affect attitudes, perceptions, vocational choices and the ability to lead successful lives. In short, the educational excellence of our school district contributes significantly to the overall quality of life in our communities.

The residents of Pontiac Township High School District 90 have a high level of expectations for their school. The future challenge for the school will depend on the utilization of a variety of financial resources in addition to the conventional sources of funding.

The Goal:
The goal of the Foundation is to provide financial support for special projects benefiting all students attending Pontiac Township High School so as to enhance their educational opportunities.

The Need for a Foundation:
State and Federal funding for education has been insufficient to support special projects and equipment for our schools. The District 90 Educational Foundation was created in 1993 as a not-for-profit-corporation under Illinois law to provide an alternative source of funds for use by the district.

Tax Advantages:
The Foundation is a funding mechanism for charitable contributions to be made to the local school district.

All contributions to the District 90 Educational Foundation are tax deductible on Federal income tax returns as authorized by the Internal Revenue Service. Any gifts made to the Foundation qualify as a charitable deduction.

How to Make Your Contribution:
Contributions to the Foundation may be in the form of cash, checks, or securities in any amount. Contributions may be made as a bequest in a will, as an endowment, or a memorial.
