Career Planning
What do you want to do as a career?
What skills do you possess?
Are you good with your hands, problem solving, or a motivator of people?
Are you attentive to detail, fast with numbers, quick to catch on?
What are your strong points?
It is important to connect the things you know about yourself to the career areas you are considering. Online interest inventories and the career websites can suggest careers that match your interests and your personality type. Do your plans for education after high school match your career hopes? Programs of Study and your 4 Year Plan can help you prepare you for future careers. You will need the help of your parents, teachers, guidance counselors, and friends, but it is YOUR future.
Link your college and career goals to classes offered at PTHS. An online 4 year plan is available in Skyward that allows students to edit and revise their plans throughout high school and shares their plans with their Guidance Counselors. To access the plan: (1) Login to Skyward Account. (2) Click on Online Forms. (3) Click on 4 Year Plan PTHS - Fill Out Form. (4) Click View Full Screen Mode. (5) Click Edit Step 1. (6) Fill in Selections. (7) Click Complete Step 1 at the Top of the Screen. (8) Click on Close and Finish Later (to return to edit later, follow steps 1-4 and then click on the Previous Step button.)
Click here for detailed directions on filling out the form.
